MDIC participates in bilateral meeting in Montevideo

(Brasilia, May 15) - The Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), Ivan Ramalho, participated today in Montevideo, Uruguay, a bilateral meeting with the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, José Luis Cancela, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Palacio Santos.  

A technical meeting was a preparatory visit to the Uruguayan president, Tabaré Vázquez, will make to Brazil on Thursday, May 21, where he will meet President Dilma Rousseff.

The delegations of Brazil and Uruguay passed on the main economic issues - trade, production integration, infrastructure, free movement of people and cooperation - that make up the bilateral agenda.

There were also two specific meetings: a meeting of the Automotive Committee Uruguay - Brazil and one instance of work related to the works projected on the Yaguarón river.

Uruguay and Brazil have been working in recent years, in a model of integration for the region, with the creation of the High Level Group (HLG), which seeks to give effect to the free movement of goods, services and people, as well as further integration production and development of binational infrastructure.
